Would this work in a fish tank...?
In adition to plants and organizams, lakes and ponds also have moving water. The water runs through the plants and rocks and other natural filters with a current and out of the body of water in a stream or river and then new water comes in from rain, snow run off and streams and it goes around agein. Their are animals that eat some of the debree and plants that use the waist for fertilizer. Ponds, lakes, the ocean, and other bodies of water do have filters thay are just natural. To acheave this in your tank you use a filter and water changes if you want to do it the easy way. In a large tank you can build a sump filter under your tank with plants and rocks and other natural meida to run your water through but you have to keep the water running through it like it does in the wild, it's more difficult to get the set up just right. You can't keep stagnit water clean by just planting your tank, you need to make a current and get the science just right. I hope I helped.
