Starting to feel like I dont want to have chilldren cause of my bf's unaturally bratty niece. need reasurance!?

i think it's different when you have your own kids because you'll be the one responsible for their upbringing. if you spoil them, you will pay for it. if you don't give them the needed attention, you will pay for it also. i had been married for 11 years before i decided to have kids and i never consider myself a patient, nourturing, sweet person until I had my first son. IT was an immediate change. He's now 2 and a half and drives me crazy most of the time. His "terrible two's" started at 10 months and he's been going at since, BUT he's mine and I wouldn't change him for the world. I read A LOT about what's normal behavior for a 2 yr old considering their develpmental stages but I do not allow disrespect. Since you spend a lot of time with your future niece, maybe YOU can be a good role model to her. You'll be amazed at how much kids are willing to do (including behaving) just to get attention. good luck!
